How to Celebrate Canada Day 2019 in Mississauga

Mississauga always has plenty of festivities going on – and Canada Day 2019 is no exception! With celebrations planned city-wide, it won’t be hard to find somewhere to go to celebrate your patriotism.

And what type of Canada Day celebration would it be without an amazing display of fireworks? Here’s a list of four amazing (and free) events happening in Mississauga for the upcoming long weekend.

Celebration Square Canada Day Celebration 2019

With more than 100,000 attendees expected, Celebration Square is ready to throw a great party for our country! This year’s Canada Day festivities begin at  2 p.m. and feature an incredible lineup of artists, roaming buskers and food trucks.

Finish off your night with an amazing show of fireworks that overlook the Mississauga Civic Centre starting at 10:30 p.m.

Port Credit’s Paint the Town Red

Advertised as a ‘not-to-be-missed experience,’ Paint the Town Red is a great way to spend Canada Day in Port Credit!

After watching the parade and before the fireworks display, enjoy an incredible lineup of entertainment. Eagles’ fans can listen to Hotel California and Tom Petty devotees will enjoy Stan Miczek performing all of Petty’s greatest hits.

Harvest Moon, the City of Mississauga Dance Program and Melle Rose round out the festival’s extensive entertainment lineup.

Churchill Meadows’ Canada Day Together Festival

Another great option for this upcoming long weekend is to attend the 4th Annual Canada Day Together Festival event in Churchill Meadows. Running from 2-10 p.m., the festival has a variety of activities for the whole family. A Kids Zone featuring a petting zone, pony rides, inflatables, jugglers and more keep kids of all ages having fun. Visit the main stage to enjoy a range of performers showcasing different styles, cultures and backgrounds of music.

The spectacular firework display begins at 10:00 p.m. and will be set to music.

Streetsville’s Canada Day Celebrations

Running from 6:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. in Streetsville is another Canada Day celebration! Official Canada Day Opening ceremonies start the event off at 6:00 p.m. The celebration continues with crafts, games and activities for the kids, live entertainment and more! Don’t miss the rotary barbecue and raffle also taking place. The evening ends with RBC’s fireworks display that will be choreographed to Canadian Classics!
