Five Fun Ways to Celebrate Mother’s Day in Mississauga

Mothers do so much for us – it’s nice to finally give back to them.

Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 12th provides the perfect opportunity to do so.

I wanted to give you some unique ways to celebrate that special woman this Mother’s Day in Mississauga. Here are five of them!

Enjoy High Tea

High tea is always special – but even more so when served in a place full of history! This Mother’s Day, treat your mother to Mother’s Day Tea at Benares Historic House. Enjoy a fashion show debuting trends from years past as well as a high tea served in the Benares dining and sitting room.

The unique Georgian style home features over 165 years of history and is nestled in a beautiful park-like setting.

Get Active

We are so fortunate to live in a city filled with beautiful walking and cycling trails. Why not plan an active outing for you and mom this Mother’s Day while enjoying some time outside?

Many of our city’s parks feature lakefront trails, plus there are always birds and wildlife to be photographed! Some of my favourite Mississauga parks are Lorne Park, Kariya Park and Lakefront Promenade Park.

Get Pampered

Mother’s Day is all about making your mother feel extra special. What better way to do so than with getting her pampered?

From hand and foot treatments to full body wraps and massages, it won’t be difficult to choose the best way to make your mom feel amazing.

What may be difficult, however, is choosing the spa! Although Mississauga has plenty of renowned spa facilities, Cedarhouse Spa, The Body Clinic Day Spa and Glenerin Spa are some of my personal favourites.

While booking a treatment or two for your mom, don’t forget to schedule some pampering for yourself, too!

Go Antiquing

Discover a beautiful heirloom with your mom this Mother’s Day! Plan a leisurely afternoon of visiting some of Mississauga’s best antique stores and help her find something special to take home. Gypsy Wind Collectibles, Antiques and Vintage, Captain’s Treasures and The Barn are three antique stores that shouldn’t be missed.

Plan an Entire Weekend Away

Your mother plays a special role in your life. Why not honour her for more than just one day? Pre-booking a stay a Platinum Suite’s furnished apartments in Mississauga is another wonderful way to honour your mother this Mother’s Day. Located across the street from Celebration Square, within walking distance of Square One and surrounded by plenty of restaurants and shops, it’s easy to stay entertained all weekend long.
