Sausages, specialty cheeses, smoked fish, and more…How can you not love Polish cuisine?
When it comes to Polish food stores, we have plenty of options in Mississauga. Here are some of my favourites!
Starsky Fine Foods
This chain of full-service supermarkets carries a wide selection of European meats, cheese and imported foods. Its products are more affordably priced than similar products found in larger grocery store chains and its shelves are always fully stocked. Because of the solid reputation that it has as a European grocer, it’s no surprise that the store is normally quite busy.
Don’t feel like cooking? Stop by Starsky’s hot food counter for dumplings, pierogi, schnitzel and other European delicacies.
The best part? Mississauga has not one but two of the four locations that Starsky Fine Foods operates in Ontario!
EuroMax Foods
Although the store is small, its shelves are packed with plenty of options when it comes to European baked goods and deli items. Large, fresh portions, affordable prices and friendly service (offered in Polish first) will have you quickly becoming a return customer. And if you do, inquire about the chain’s loyalty card!
Unsure about a particular meat or cheese? Ask for a sample before making your decision!
Like Starsky’s, there are two EuroMax Foods Mississauga locations to serve you better.
Peter’s Euro Deli and Bakery
This small, well stocked, newer bakery and deli features an assortment of Polish products including spices, sweets, dairy, cold cuts and sausages. Amazing sauerkraut, pierogi and freshly baked pastries make this a location you won’t want to visit on an empty stomach!
The store’s quality products, clean location and friendly staff are contributing to its success as a European grocery store.
After enjoying a warm loaf of rye or multigrain bread, you’ll understand why so many others become frequent shoppers at Peter’s Euro Deli and Bakery!
Jo-John Meat Produce & Delicatessen Ltd.
Fresh, tasty, high-quality Polish products can be found at the family-run Jo-John Meat & Produce Delicatessen Ltd. Although most well regarded for its Polish cold cuts and sausages, the store also offers an extensive selection of European grocery products.
Natural wood is used to smoke meat onsite and meat products are created using European family recipes.
Specialty cheeses, pastries, breads and bakery items are always stocked and ready to be enjoyed by you and your family.
If you’re visiting from out of town and want to shop for some traditional Polish foods, a great location to stay is Platinum Suites.
